Responsibilities
About The Role:
GM Financial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Application Portfolio Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be the workstream owner for governing the technology platform. This candidate will additionally lead the development of standardized architecture artifacts and tooling. As the workstream owner, you will drive the end-to-end lifecycle management of the North Star Maturity Index (NSMI) Dashboard, ensuring the integration of data from Cyber, CMBB, Architecture, and DevOps systems and processes. The NSMI Dashboard is a critical tool that evaluates GM Financial's application portfolio, ensuring adherence to architecture maturity standards and identifying areas of technical debt. You will be responsible for regular assessments of application designs and presenting findings to the Global Architecture Governance Council (GAC).
- Influence projects and initiatives through technical expertise
- Lead the creation and standardization of architecture artifacts and tooling to support clear and consistent high level designs.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of the Application Health Assessments including dashboard and data collection, and operationalizing the dashboard's use across GM Financial.
- Provide regular assessments of architecture designs, identify gaps, and present recommendations to the Global Architecture Governance Council (GAC).
- Evaluate the application portfolio to ensure compliance with North Star principles and patterns, managing technical debt for applications that do not meet required standards.
- Become a trusted and valued partner of department and business leaders by providing subject matter expertise, guidance and support
- Collaborate with executives, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic architecture goals and facilitate discussions around architecture compliance and improvements.
- Drive technical thought-leadership, acting as a change agent and advocate for new methodologies that enable higher levels of business agility and operational excellence
- Understand, communicate and commit to the team's vision, goals and strategies, translating vision to solutions while balancing risk, investment needs and fit for purpose
- Foster open communication that welcomes information sharing, seeks input from others and values diverse viewpoints
- Ensure that applications meet a minimum threshold of architecture maturity and implement remediation plans for applications that are out of compliance.
- Maintain a strong internal network by working across the business segment to foster a culture of trust, inclusion, engagement and integrity
- Help to drive cross-team solutions, anticipating and addressing problems ahead of the need by acting as a key influencer in assigned oversight areas
- Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:
- Associate Degree or High School Equivalent plus 2 additional years of related experience required
- Greater than 10 years in related function required
- 3-5 years leading through mentorship in related field required
- 3-5 years leading projects and initiatives through influence required
- Related certifications and/or licenses required required
- Member of and recommendation by accredited association in related field preferred

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY
GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada. In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015. In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.
GM Financial provides auto finance solutions to 14,000 dealers worldwide, with earning assets of $93 billion at September 30, 2018.
