Who will you be working with?
As the Product Manager, you will join a Product Team that manages the GoLINC, Precision Reference (PRef), Locomotive Interface Gateway (LIG), and Expert On Alert (EOA), and historic on-board product portfolio. In this role you will interact will all levels of an organization between internal stakeholders such as the Engineering and Program Management teams, along with external customers.
How will you make a difference?
You can expect to manage and coordinate all aspects of the product life cycle. By coordinating overall product management activities and interfaces with other functional areas, you will ensure successful growth of the business. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills and the ability to influence outcomes and organize teams to attain shared goals. With a strong customer focus, you'll need to be able to demonstrate the ability to evaluate decisions through the eyes of the customer, build strong customer relationships, create processes with a customer viewpoint and develop a partnership to help shape future initiatives.
What do we want to know about you?
- Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Product Management, Project management, Engineering, or similar role
- Experience in developing opportunities and drafting proposals
- Proven experience interfacing with customers in a business development or execution role
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
What will your typical day look like?
- Defines overall product life cycle for all assigned products
- Outline multi-generational product strategy aligned to deliver overall growth of the portfolio
- Define product roadmaps
- Serve as product focal point for business development activities including pricing, proposal preparation, sales interfaces, customer interaction and marketing initiatives
- Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies
- Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required
- Provide regular portfolio status updates to leadership
- Ensure necessary resources are engaged to drive closure of any product quality issues
- Monitor monthly financial performance of assigned products and drive necessary actions to achieve both top line and bottom-line goals
- Develop customer specific strategies, along with Sales, to capture incremental business
- Generate new product ideas to expand the product portfolio and drive growth
- Generate budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans
- Develop product roadmaps
