Job Description

Technicians will be responsible for completing time-sensitive aircraft repairs in the field. This position requires the technician to display a professional demeanor and project this atmosphere to our customers while working in sometimes unfamiliar locations throughout our region. This challenging position is key to providing our customers with the same exceptional service they are accustomed to wherever their aircraft may be while working with minimal supervision.  Must be able to troubleshoot and follow Technical Support Guidelines

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Perform AOG maintenance on a variety of corporate and general aviation aircraft.

  • Perform maintenance on a variety of corporate and general aviation aircraft including but not limited to the aircraft specified as well as Citation, Global Express, Challenger, Gulfstream, Phenom 100 & 300 Challenger, and Hawker.

  • Perform a wide range of maintenance duties to include inspections, testing, repair, and servicing of aircraft.

  • Perform maintenance IAW with FAA approved technical data.

  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and methods of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • Maintenance shop cleanup, organization, and basic office duties.

  • Accurately complete all appropriate maintenance, work order, and RTS paperwork.



Schedule


  • 7 DAYS ON 7 DAYS OFF 

  • Wednesday - Tuesdays with base hours from 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM

  • All full-time AOG techs are eligible for overtime. 

  • Any work performed outside of 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM must be billed at the OT rate in Corridor. 

  • OT must be approved by the customer, in writing either via email or on the Work Authorization form PRIOR to the technician performing work outside the hours of 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. 

  • On special occasions when travel is required, technicians may be expected to continue working after their 7-day schedule has ended to complete a job. 

  • Additional overtime outside of the technician's 7-day schedule may be offered on a case-by-case basis.



Job Requirements:


  • Experience providing maintenance on one of the following aircraft:





  • Embraer Phenom 100 & 300, Praetor 500, 600

  • Hawker 800/900

  • Cessna Citation Series

  • Dassault Falcon

  • Gulfstream G100, G150, G200, G280, GIV, G450, G550, G650

  • Bombardier Challenger 350/650

  • Bombardier Global 5000/6000





  • Ability to be willing to work on elevated platforms (up to 40 feet in the air) using fall protection safety gear.

  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs.

  • Ability to lift 70lbs or more.

  • Ability to operate basic hand tools and ground equipment.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces.  





  • Ability to learn and use technical manuals.

  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems effectively.

  • Be a problem solver by effectively reading and interpreting maintenance, wiring, and illustrated parts manuals.

  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally in a clear and understandable manner with co-workers, customers, and company Leadership.

  • Must be able to perform repairs effectively and quickly in short notice, high-pressure situations.

  • Must be able to input and retrieve information from computers.

  • Experience with Apple and Microsoft products especially Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets

  • Able to travel to locations, in all weather conditions, to perform repairs.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.



Expenses



  • AOG technicians will be supplied with a company credit card and will be expected to adhere to the company credit card usage and reporting policy. 

  • The credit card may be used for expenses such as dining, fuel, hotels/airfare, tooling, etc.   

  • Mileage must be charged to work orders as distance from Empire Aviation's base location at KPBI. 

  • Hotel and airfare charges must be approved by the customer and charged to the work order. 

  • Hotel and airfare receipts should include the work order number written on them for verification. 

  • Company credit cards may be used for meals so long as the day it was used, the technician worked on an AOG aircraft in which the customer was charged a per diem. 

  • All daily food charges are not to exceed the per diem rate charged to the customer which is calculated from GSA.GOV's Meals & Incidentals total or First and Last Day of Travel. 

  • All food receipts must include a work order number written on them for verification. 

  • Tooling and consumable purchases or rentals must either be approved by and charged to the customer or approved by a supervisor.  





Tools and Equipment


  • AOG technicians must possess their own basic aviation maintenance hand tools.  Specialty equipment and calibrated tooling will be supplied by Empire Aviation.  AOG technicians are expected to keep company tooling, vehicles and equipment in an organized and cleanly condition.  Equipment requiring attention or repair should be tagged and supervisors notified via email immediately.   AOG vans are stocked with consumables and tooling and technicians are held accountable to verify all consumables used are charged to customers and must complete van inventory checklists daily.  





Licenses and Certifications Required:


  • Valid and current Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Valid US Passport
