Structures Technician - Military Veterans

STRUCTURAL TECH (LEVEL 3-4)
Responsible for performing a variety of structural assembly operations in a production department: Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc. Will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft modification tasks and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records to include completion of FFA Form 337.

Shift: 7:00AM – 3PM (EST)
Details: Primary scope of work will include the installation of Prototype designs for STC projects. Qualified candidates must be able to work independently, setting up effective and efficient workspaces that aid production speed and quality while prioritizing workload.
Effectively identify and communicate potential form, fit, or function issues with the Engineering Department.
Follow established processes and procedures from initiation through completion of projects to include Red-Line process.
Close tolerance drilling, reaming, cold working, and fitting of prototype or established STC kits.
Keen understanding of the importance of following all instructions, while also maintaining the ability to think independently and critically of all modifications.
Must be able to seek guidance prior to making any changes in installation of aircraft modification prior to doing so, ensuring the accurate capture of all changes.
Fabricate jigs and fixtures based on modification needs with the intent of aiding assembly/installation speed while not sacrificing quality.
Must have experience modifying pressurized and unpressurized aircraft structures.
Physical requirements for the job include: - Ability to lift 50lbs, stand, sit, crouch/squat, climb, and kneel for the entire duty day.
Must be willing to travel up to 20%
Efficiently work with little oversight while maintaining a focus on quality, requesting inspections when appropriate.
Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
Minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft structural modification.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
FAA Certificated Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic
Prior Military aviation or OCONUS contracting experience.
Possess personal tools applicable to the role.
