Our Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees received accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) . This esteemed recognition will be valid for the next eight years, and we are thrilled to continue providing high-quality education to our students. The typical time allocation for non-tenure track faculty in the College of Public Service is 80% teaching (equivalent to 8 classes per year, 4 classes in each fall and spring semester) and 20% service. The Clinical Assistant Professor may teach undergraduate-level or graduate-level courses in Social Work, as needed. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach required courses within the Social Work major as well as within an existing emphasis area [generalist social work, trauma-informed social work practice, military social work, healthcare social work, direct social work practice (micro or macro), and/or school social work]. The position requires a flexible teaching schedule to include day and evening classes as well as the ability to teach in a variety of formats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, and online). Job Duties: This is a one calendar year (9 month), non-tenure-track position. Teaching (effort allocation: 80%) Prepare and teach courses within the current Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and/or Master of Social Work (MSW) curricula with a focus on the social work field practice courses and support. Other teaching activities include but are not limited to: facilitating field placement activities, serving as a field liaison, making site visits, contributing to social work accreditation and curriculum development, and mentoring students on independent studies. Service (effort allocation: 20%) Be an engaged member of the College of Public Service and UCCS communities. Service activities include but are not limited to: participating in faculty meetings; serving on Social Work, College of Public Service, and UCCS campus committees; participating in student recruitment activities; helping to build/maintain partnerships between the community and College of Public Affairs; mentoring part-time faculty; mentoring student organizations; program assessment; and other activities as appropriate. This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). What We Offer: Salary Range: Generally starting at $55 ,000 - $59,000 per year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. Minimum Qualifications: An earned Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. A minimum of 24 months of post-MSW professional social work experience. An active social work license in any U.S. state by the time of hire. Must have active social work license in Colorado within 12 months of hire. Preferred Qualifications: An earned Doctor of Social Work (DSW) or PhD in Social Work (or related field). At least 1 year full-time, or equivalent, Social Work Field Director, Coordinator, or Liaison experience. At least 9 months of teaching and/or professional training experience in Social Work, or a related discipline.
