Division Manager - Military Veterans

The Division Manager for the Division of Infectious Diseases is responsible for managing the administrative operations of the Division with an overall annual budget of $25 million. Functions include IT, facilities, education and fellowship administration, contracts and grants, budgetary financial management, strategic planning, research and clinical operations, and human resources. Manages a professional staff of 33 direct and indirect reports comprised of various staff positions. Assumes accountability for decisions made by subordinates. Performs long and short term planning for function. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules.

The Division Manager is an essential part of the Division's Leadership and provides managerial direction to all of the programs and enterprises within the division and reports to the Division Chief. The Infectious Diseases Division is passionate about its mission of improving the health and wellbeing of infectious diseases patients though its clinical care, research, and educational programs. The primary strength of the Infectious Diseases Division rests in its people--the faculty, staff, and trainees. The Division Manager plays a central role in maintaining and promoting this culture.

The division spans across multiple campuses with faculty and staff located at UCSF Parnassus, Mission Bay, and Mount Zion. The Division Manager is responsible for optimum administration across these sites, solving complex staff/faculty/fellow appointments and funding at UC, VA and ZSFG. The Division of Infectious Diseases consists of 31 faculty, 2 MSP Physicians, 14 clinical fellows, and 55 non-faculty academics and staff, totaling 102 personnel.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
