Part-Time Associate Research Scientist - Military Veterans

We are seeking a part-time Associate Research Scientist to assist with an internally funded grant project, Voice Map Pro, focused on developing voice mapping technology for singers. The role involves supporting voice research scientists in project management and the development of an iPhone-based app.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project details, including technological aspects and budget projections.
• Design and develop the iPhone app for voice mapping technology.
• Conduct experiments to test the software and analyze experimental data.
• Participate in weekly project meetings.
• Program experimental tasks to evaluate the system with a diverse range of singers and songs.
• Manage datasets and apply findings to enhance platform functionality.

The job duties for this position require minimal in-person interaction and can be performed remotely >60% of the time (i.e., more than 3 days per week). In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. The employee who takes on this role can expect to work 15 hours per week.

Qualifications include app development experience, understanding of coding, and management skills to take care of the technology related tasks as well as manage budget projections. Experience in the management of technical projects with heavy scientific components is also preferred.
