Continuing and Professional Education (CaPE) Instructor Job no: 542951 Department: Extended Ed & International Ed Work type: Staff Location: Stanislaus - Turlock Categories: Excluded, Temporary, Time Varies, Education Support Professionals, Telecommute eligible (work onsite as scheduled and/or as requested and telecommute as scheduled) Position Summary (Classified as: Casual Worker) Full-time temporary position available on or after November 4, 2024 and ending on or before June 30, 2025 in Contuing and Professional Education. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance. The Continuing and Professional Education (CaPE) Instructor plays a crucial role in delivering training in the Greater San Joaquin Valley. This position involves conducting online, hybrid Zoom, and in-person classes required to complete the training. Job Duties Duties include but are not limited to: Conduct organized classes to meet course requirements. Advise and assist participants in achieving course objectives. Stay updated with developments in the relevant field. Maintain control of assigned equipment, materials, and supplies. Attend required meetings. Participate in evaluating and revising course offerings. Provide written course outlines and handouts to participants. Coordinate with staff on instructional materials. Report any health or safety concerns to the appropriate authority. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education : Completion of an undergraduate degree, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents. Experience : Four years of related experience in fields including but not limited to: business, leadership, arts, data analysis, technology, international programs, finance, education, sustainability, entrepreneurship, agriculture, biomanufacturing, health, social justice, sales, marketing, law, and science. Preferred Qualifications Five years experience working in a related field. Certification(s) or training in related areas. Two year's experience facilitating presentations. Knowledge of specialized skills in a related field. Expertise related to subject matter. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Experience as an Instructor and knowledge related to the curriculum. Knowledge of educational technologies and tools for course delivery. Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in educational settings. Awareness of industry trends and developments in the relevant field. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for participant guidance. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. Proficiency in creating and delivering instructional materials. Ability to adapt to changing educational needs and technologies. Capacity to work independently and as part of a team. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for course evaluation and improvement. Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining course materials and records. Special Conditions Occasionally work evenings and weekends as needed. An instructor may be assigned to teach at either the Turlock or Stockton campus based on the needs of the department. Salary Range $50.00 per hour.
