Flatbed CDL Driver - Communications - Military Veterans

Responsibilities:

• Perform general construction tasks under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor.
• Hand dig holes and trenches using a shovel and other tools.
• Role involves approximately 80% labor and 20% driving CDL-class trucks/hauling equipment.
• Basic knowledge of underground cable locating is required.
• Operate various types of trucks and equipment.
• Responsible for transporting equipment and materials.
• Install underground telecommunications cables.
• Flag traffic and set up safety perimeters with signage, cones, and barriers.
• Conduct daily equipment walkarounds and report any defects to mechanics.
• Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL driver's license.
• Ability to climb in and out of equipment such as cars, trucks, backhoes, and trenchers.
• Experience working around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Familiarity with and adherence to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules and regulations.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, feet, head, and shoulders.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various environments, including congested and remote areas.
• Ability to work while standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Must be capable of working in small or confined spaces, at variable heights or depths.
• Ability to lift/carry over 75 pounds.
• Reach, bend, and stoop as required during tasks.
• Maintain visual and audible communication with other crew members and surrounding traffic to ensure safe operations.

Physical Demands (All Positions):

• Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds regularly.
• Standing, walking (primarily on uneven surfaces), turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking, and hearing are continuously required.

• Work outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions.
• Exposure to wet, humid, cold, and hot environments.
• Work environments may be loud at times.
• Frequent exposure to slow or fast-moving traffic.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be willing to work overtime based on workload demands.
