Be a part of something big! Komatsu Longview Operations builds the world’s largest front-end loader and we are currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector in Longview, Texas. Key Job Responsibilities






 



· Work safe and be an advocate for safety.

· Visual inspection of manufactured parts and raw materials per drawing requirements.

· Hardness testing of raw materials and manufactured parts using the Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing

methods.

· Prioritizes raw materials and parts for the various inspection processes. Requires the ability to prioritize raw

materials and parts for the various inspection processes.

· Set‐up of all types of gages for use in the inspection processes. Requires the ability to set‐up all types of gages

for use in the inspection processes.

· Knowledge of visual inspections processes and procedures.

· Knowledge of surface conditions of materials & machined surfaces.

· In‐process and final inspection of assembled equipment such as Wheeled Loaders, Sizers, Drills, Hardrock underground loaders / trucks. per the

requirements of applicable drawings, specifications, procedures & work instructions.

· Prepares & maintains documentation such as Nonconformance Reports (NCR), dimensional inspection reports.

· Interfaces with internal departments and personnel, as needed to support production needs. Requires the ability

to interface (inter‐personal skills) with internal departments and personnel, as needed to support production

needs.








Qualifications/Requirements






 



· Ability to operate and functionally test mechanically driven equipment.

· Qualified to use rebound hardness testing machines.

· Minimum of two years Machinist, Inspection or Dimensional inspection experience.

· Ability to read, analyze, & interpret general business documents.

· Self‐starter, able to prioritize & multi‐task with good analytical skills.

· Ability to calculate figures & amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference & volume.

· Experience with dimensional mechanical measuring tools such as micrometers & calipers.

· Ability to understand and interpret drawings and technical requirements.

· Knowledge of receiving, in‐process and final inspection processes and procedures.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, scanners and copiers.

· Preferred - Experience operating powered industrial trucks.



· This is a 2nd shift position.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.
