The opportunity:

The Industrial Shift Nurse is a critical member of our healthcare team, providing medical services and promoting health and safety in an industrial setting. This role involves working in 12-hour shifts to ensure round-the-clock healthcare support.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

  • Medical Care: Provide immediate medical attention to employees in case of workplace injuries or illnesses.
  • Health Monitoring: Conduct regular health check-ups for employees to monitor their health status.
  • Phone Coverage: Manages call-ins and notifications for various departments within the mill.
  • Safety Training: Conduct health and safety training sessions for employees.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate medical records of all employees.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively.

  • What you need to succeed:
    • License Practical Nurse (minimum) license.
    • Experience in occupational health nursing is preferred.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in shifts.
    • Must attend and pass mill provided EMT program which follows Alabama guidelines.
    This role requires working in an industrial setting, which may include exposure to various hazards. Safety training and protective equipment will be provided.
