About the Opportunity

The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Commissioning phase of a HVDC project from the concept design through to handover to the client at the end of the Commissioning phase.

Responsibilities Include:

• Ensure Safety is the highest priority on the project, with a continued strive towards Zero Harm. Promotes and manages safety within assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures on site. Leads the commissioning team as a role model for all aspects of safety, ensuring a proactive approach to safety.
• Compiles the project commissioning strategy, defines scope and owns the commissioning plan and schedule
• You will be responsible for the supervision, testing and commissioning of control, protection and Sub station Automation Systems for HVDC Systems.
• You will create a detailed commissioning plan and mobilize resources required for commissioning of the HVDC station.
• Manages the preparation and execution of the arrangements for controlling, witnessing, recording and assessing the results of commissioning tests ensuring that all commissioning activities are recorded and managed via the project completions management system
• Establishes and maintains all processes and procedures required for commissioning delivery
• Supports the Project Engineering team by attending and contributing to HAZID / HAZCON / HAZOP workshops to ensure the project design has accommodated commissioning related activities.
• Performs risk analysis of commissioning execution and mitigations plan

• Degree qualified or equivalent
• Extensive commissioning manager experience
• You will have a background in electrical engineering and on-site commissioning delivery for HVDC projects in the UK under CDM regulations
• Bachelor of Science in electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Proactive and have good communication skills
