The Northeast Regional De-escalation Training Center in the Lee College at the University of New Haven invites applications for its Project Coordinator position. This position is funded through a two-year COPS grant that was awarded to the University and is slated to end around December 31, 2024. You will: Collaborate and work with project team, staff, and students to fully implement and schedule the de-escalation training with regional police departments. Coordinate outreach to the Northeast region with the program director and coprincipal investigator. Coordinate individual session materials with instructors. Itemize and track expenses associated with overall program cost, travel, and training session expenditures. Coordinate information on trainers in partnered agencies, including resumes, contact information, and training sessions held. Keep detailed records on each training session that is provided. Make travel accommodations for regional and national instructors. Work directly for the Project Director and perform tasks and responsibilities as needed. You need: Bachelor?s Degree and/or graduate degree from an accredited university preferred. May substitute degree requirement for previous supervisory law enforcement experience. At least three years of professional or administrative experience with excellent organizational skills, and verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of the structure and organization of law enforcement agencies is preferred. Understanding of grant-based program/project deliverables, timelines, and reporting requirements. Ability to manage and work in a collaborative and professional manner and to adhere to deadlines and to routinely handle multiple priorities. Media literacy skills in use of electronic technology (PC, laptop, e-notebooks, wireless phones, cameras, video cameras, microphones, LCD projectors, etc.) and corresponding software in MS programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; social media platforms and website navigation required. *The University of New Haven is not a qualifying E-Verify employer and its use of E-Verify is limited to specific government projects.
