Intern - Supply Chain Cost Engineering - Military Veterans

What you will be doing

  • Complete tasks on computer using MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Interact effectively with team members on a daily basis. Share opinions and ask questions relevant to the work and/or his or her study program.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks with some supervisory oversight.
  • Recognize problems which are beyond intern's capabilities and learn from the experts in the area.
  • Work assigned tasks to meet schedule and may coordinate details with other departments.
  • Maintain good attendance and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Present year-end presentation of Woodward internship experience.
  • Must report GPA status to leader on a quarterly/semester basis.
  • In Cost Engineering:
    • Creating CREO (CAD) files based on existing designs and participating in various roles within the supply chain cost estimating organization.
    • Participate with Cost Engineers on design trade-off evaluations on key sourced components for manufacturability and cost considerations.
    • This will be a 20 hour per week internship during the school year, and 40 hours per week during the summer. This internship will continue throughout the school year as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Intermediate CAD software skills. Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) including ERP systems. Knowledge and ability to use general office equipment, such as copiers, faxes, printers, computers, etc.
  • The ability to process multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic organization and prioritization skills
  • The ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team
  • The ability to define, diagnose, and resolve problems and the ability to make decisions in a timely manner
  • The ability to assist other drafters with tasks. Demonstrated ability on a day-to-day basis to effectively balance workload for a drafting group only
  • Ability to understand and apply fundamental Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing or International equivalent at an intermediate level
  • Experience with CREO software is preferred
Education or Formal Training

Must be at least a Sophomore in an accredited College or University program and have an acceptable grade point average. Degree program preferably in CAD Drafting/Engineering.

Experience Required

No experience required. Previous internship or other working experience, a plus.
