Parts Warehouse - Military Veterans

PURPOSE

The position is responsible for properly ordering, receiving, storing, and accounting for parts or merchandise.

BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Receives deliveries from vendors, FedEx and UPS shipments

  • Responsible for prepping items for shipment and completing shipping paperwork for FedEx and UPS

  • Prepares items for shipment for internal branch transfers. Receives and distributes items received via internal branch transfer.

  • Unloads parts and attachment freight deliveries received via semi trailers.

  • Assists in keeping parts department, showroom and parts warehouse clean and orderly.


  • Responsible for keeping pallets stacked & bundled in a manner ready for shipment.

  • Assists in gathering and shipping return parts to appropriate vendors

  • Assists with perpetual and end of year inventory audits, as needed.

  • Timely processing of parts shipments (ie, Customer & Stock Orders, Machine Down, and Surplus Returns)

  • Posts freight to work order or counter tickets as need for parts orders and transfers (if applicable)

  • Performs cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory; reports discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products


  • Assists supervisor with merchandising displays by re-stocking showroom inventory

  • Works in Saturday parts rotation as necessary

  • Other duties as required, for overall location functionality.


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience

  • Experience connecting with customers, maintaining professional image, and establishing rapport

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects simultaneously with a degree of independence

  • Basic data entry/keyboarding skills

  • Basic parts and machinery knowledge

  • Ability to use the John Deere Parts programs and other related computer applications

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends

  • Ability to operate a forklift

  • Valid drivers license required for potential driving situations, preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Weight Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Mobility: Squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, standing, sitting and repetitive keyboarding for long durations of time

  • Visual: Working with smart devices and manuals

  • Driving: Occasional Short and long distances

  • Dexterity: Ability to grasp and manipulate standard tools and office equipment

  • Noise: Medium to High
