Position Title: House Manager (2 positions available) School/Division: Office of the Provost (division) Full Time/Part Time: Part-Time Description: Reporting to the Director of Theater Facilities, the House Manager is responsible for front of house activities at Hofstra's John Cranford Adams Playhouse and Joan and Donald Schaeffer Black Box Theater. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Greets and escorts patrons to their seats. Supervises the front-of-house ushers. Assists patrons with questions and ticket purchases in the box offices, theaters, via phone and via email. Being present during events in our theaters and at the closing of the event to answer guests' questions. Upholds and enforces the theaters' policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: At least 1 3 years house manager, box office, or front of house/usher experience required. Flexible schedule with weekend availability to be present at scheduled events in both theaters. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Be a proactive problem solver. Possess a warm demeanor and a positive attitude. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a customer-facing environment is a plus.
