That is, how does our genetic background interact with dietary metabolites (vitamin cofactors, minerals, etc.) and environmental variables to affect health and disease. Our lab has pioneered the integration of CRISPR-based genetic screens with advanced systems metabolism to uncover new pathways that regulate oxygen and vitamin metabolism. This work has already led to breakthroughs in our understanding of disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies.
