What you will do

REMOTE Industrical HVAC O&M Customer Business Manager

Under minimal direction, this position will support sales, installation & commissioning of Industrial York Process Systems (YPS) Engineered Chiller offerings. This role will interface with YPS chiller design / contract engineering, product technical support, Engineered Controls System Group, Baltimore Parts and the field service and systems organizations. Supports JCI service branches on large, complex, retrofit or conversion projects by providing technical, engineering, or process support on York & Non-York Chillers in the Industrial Process Refrigeration vertical market. Performs high level analysis and engineering review on more complex technical commissioning projects. Supports reselection engineering on compressors, heat exchangers, valves, etc. for performance and component analysis for YORK & Non-York Chillers. Provides on-site technical support for Customers and field teams on commissioning execution and service delivery of Industrial Process Refrigeration Equipment. Leads engineering or process tasks during detailed development of conceptual solutions. Conducts Industrial and Hydrocarbon Training for BSNA Service as required.

How you will do it
  • Provide application, engineering, sales, and commissioning support for Industrial YPS Chiller projects.

  • Compile notification packages for branches responsible for commissioning YPS chiller packages. Assess skillset within the branches and if necessary, assist in locating additional support.

  • Assist or direct commissioning of complex Industrial Process Systems chillers and Enhanced Control Panel Retrofit Projects to ensure they meet customer objectives & schedules.


  • Provide technical and training support to branch field personnel on the commissioning of complex Industrial Process Systems and enhanced Control Panel Retrofit Projects.


  • Establish procedures on a job-by-job basis to ensure timely completion and appropriate cost control for YPS chiller commissioning & control panel retrofit projects.


  • Lead or participate in sales to service turnover meetings for scope clarity, personnel requirements, & contractor responsibilities for new YPS Start-Ups and Commissioning.


  • Assist field sales in estimating Quantum Microprocessor & Programmable Automation Controllers (Allen Bradley) for Industrial YPS chillers and chillers related products.


  • Review drawing details and layouts to ensure proper installation for YPS Retrofit Projects.


  • Lead scheduled project review / update discussions with internal and external customers. Provide & coordinate training to customers on the operation of process systems and enhanced panels/controls.

  • When applicable, participates in the creation of technical literature for specific retrofit offerings.Prepare or assist in preparing proposals and other customer communication documents.

  • Maintain effective working relationships and communications with marketing, service, sales, and YPS / Frick manufacturing to ensure that products meet customer's requirements.

  • Exhibit high degree of technical competence in specific functional areas including Industrial Process Refrigeration equipment/controls, Chiller equipment/controls, and PLC functionality and how to interact successfully with YPS equipment.

  • Familiarity with JCI warranty systems and how they apply to multiple systems within the Industrial space infrastructure. Work in conjunction with the JCI branch and YPS / Frick to assure streamline approval for warranty issues/repairs.

  • Report to YPS / Frick Product Technical Support, Engineering, and the Factory Quality team any issues related to equipment quality or recommended enhancements(innovation) to the equipment.

Other Duties:

  • Use standard JCI development processes and tools in performing tasks


  • Responsible for remaining current with relevant engineering or design standards and practices



  • May provide post-contract design review support


  • Actively participate in relevant professional organizations



  • Responsible for the promotion and adherence of JCI safety policies


  • Perform other related duties as assigned


What we look for
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field as appropriate OR a minimum of 10 years of experience in Industrial Process Refrigeration.

  • Ten years of experience in engineering / commissioning chillers / Industrial Process Refrigeration electronic controls related products.


  • Experience with Central Utility Chilled Water Systems is preferred


  • Member of ASHRAE, IDEA and function- specific licenses or certifications preferred.


  • Possess strong analytical capabilities and ability to manage tasks associated with development of projects.


  • Fully competent in analysis and assessment of mechanical and electronic systems. Effectively leading in team settings.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable working in customer-facing situations.


  • Solid computer skills, including an understanding of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, and MS Project.


  • Ability to Travel approximately 50%.
