Assistant Controller - Military Veterans

RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY
Under direction of the controller, ensures that all required financial statements and reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner according to corporate policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and applicable regulations and laws. Supports the controller in delivering on monthly performance targets, maintaining a structured compliance environment, and successful execution of business initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. - Own the monthly general ledger closing and reconciliation process
- Support development of annual operating plans, forecasts, and conduct variance analysis for the location
- Lead the completion of monthly financial control procedures to ensure the location meets Howmet audit/ASAT/SOX requirements
- Provide accurate and timely reporting/forecasting/planning for the location
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and sharing of best practices
- Provide support on an as needed basis for financial and control audits for both internal and external auditors
- Support development of tools/reports to facilitate financial, commercial, and operational improvements
- Lead development of tools/reports to facilitate operations to meet the financial plan
- Ensure strict adherence to code of conduct and corporate policy
- Create an environment where systems are used to accurately plan, forecast, and deliver according to expectations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Formal training and in-depth experience in cost accounting, financial accounting, local, state, and federal tax regulations, and financial analysis & reporting
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and evaluative skills
- Developed written and oral communication skills

- Ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates
- Strong leadership skills required: the incumbent needs to be comfortable analyzing problems, making decisions and influencing people
- Strong decision-making skills: incumbent needs to analyze and synthesize data, and be able to make decisions without having complete information
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements
- Sound judgment and appropriate level of risk for the situation at hand
- Expert user of Microsoft Office products
- Experience with Epicor, Oracle, and Hyperion a plus

PAY
$120,000 - $145,000/ year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
