Electrician - Military Veterans

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Electrician. The core hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $33.52 per hour.

What you’ll do:
- Plan, layout and perform all operations pertaining to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of complicated electrical equipment and circuits used in various plant departments, powerhouse, and offices such as special automatic controls, electronic controls and recording instruments, generating equipment, large switchboards.
- Install units including the making up of brackets, braces, hangers, etc. and perform necessary operations to secure and assure permanence. Tear down complicated units, determine extent of troubles, repair or replace defective parts or wiring and reassemble.
- Repair or replace defective armatures and field coils; wind armatures and field coils.
- Make connections on shunt and compound wound DC motors and synchronous squirrel-cage and induction AC motors; obtain field data and make corrections to variable and constant speed motors and calculate Ohmic resistance.
- Install and wire motors for large machine tools such as floor type boring mills, intricate controls with multiple inter-locking and safety devices and involving the use of condulets, boxes and other similar equipment.
- Maintain and repair electric and electronic controls and recording devices including the necessary cleaning and adjusting, the checking of tubes and circuitry and ordinary repairs and replacements.
- Ability to work from motor control schematics, ladder logic circuit diagrams, drawings, manuals and testing procedures.
- Detect and report all defective materials or faulty operations; diagnose and remedy unusual troubles.
- Prepare wiring diagrams when necessary to facilitate work, after installation for permanent records or for changes to existing diagrams or drawings brought about by on-the-job conditions.
- Install and maintain all types of electrical transmission lines, including high tension lines, motors, generators, distribution equipment and complicated apparatus and where the understanding of operating principles is essential to provide proper precautions.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Journeymen or minimum three (3) years of documented maintenance experience in an electrical trade
- Experience with ladder logic circuit diagrams, industrial motor control schematics, and blueprint reading
