The Yale University Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery, seeks a well-trained and academically oriented transplant surgeon, at the rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, to join its diverse clinical practice group. Currently, the Division performs liver transplantation, adult-to-adult living donor liver transplants, kidney transplantation (conventional and robotic), robotic hepatobiliary and native nephrectomies, hepatobiliary surgery, laparoscopic donor nephrectomies, and pediatric kidney transplants. Experience in living donation is preferred to add to the Center for Living Organ Donors, a unique Yale program that leverages an infrastructure dedicated to the safe and ethical expansion of living donor transplantation. The Division has a strong academic presence nationally, entailing active work in normothermic machine perfusion, an extensive clinical trials portfolio, an analytics SRTR workgroup, and collaborative research with renowned Yale basic scientists. Yale-New Haven Hospital is a tertiary 1,451-bed hospital and is the flagship hospital of Yale-New Haven Health System. The transplant program has been consistently one of the largest and most successful kidney transplant programs in the region. This recruitment will be essential in a strategic effort to expand both kidney and liver transplantation throughout the health systems? broad catchment area which extends from New York, through Connecticut, and into western Rhode Island.
