Ambulatory Nurse - Day Treatment (Dayton Behavioral Health Center) - Military Veterans

The Day Treatment Nurse is a nursing staff position, which reports to the Business Manager. The nurse will assist in providing and coordinating care for patients seen in the Behavioral Health Day Treatment program, to include gathering information, updating medical concerns, medication response, and education. The nurse will involve family/significant others in planning health care and health decisions. The nurse delegates and evaluates health care to assistive personnel following the hospital plan for nursing. The nurse recognizes and advocates for each patient being individual with health care needs. The nurse provides considerate, respectful care affirming the patient’s right to make decisions regarding his/her medical care. The nurse will gather patient information, performs treatments, administers medications, assists with employee education and orientation and provides patient/family education with the goal of improving health outcomes. The day treatment nurse serves as a liaison/resource to other staff in the program and works collaboratively with them to maintain communication. This position interacts with other department personnel to identify quality patient care issues.
