The Underwriting Assistant will need to provide risk management to the Financial Institutions Programs by performing daily tasks to include, but not limited to underwriting loan exception endorsements, lender audits, customer service, manage a limited group of assigned lenders for quality, volume, and performance. Participate in lender training sessions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily,

* Review endorsement requests submitted through the shared scanfile folder, Input loan data into IMS. Use underwriting skills and approved underwriting guidelines to make a decision as to approve or tum down the endorsement request. Communicate directly with the lender on any missing information that you may need to complete the review. Send endorsements/rejection letters directly to lender contact based on approval/denial.

* Promptly respond to lender emails and phone cans regarding underwriting questions, and pending endorsement requests.

* Prepare reports on a monthly basis on assigned territory/lenders. The reporting should include any information for an individual lender such as rate increases, delinquency trends, audit results, new policy set ups with projections of new business volume. Analyze each lenders portfolio in order to determine performance, products being used, pricing, delinquency, claim patterns, and compare them to the goals and objectives for performance of the portfolio as set forth by senior management.

* Request files for an audit and re-underwriting the loans to determine if it met the lenders agreed upon guidelines. Utilize the IMS system to collect the data for the review. Prepare reports for Senior Management and written correspondence to the lender on the results of the audit. Utilize any reporting to compare past audit results.

* Evaluate short sale requests based on the required guidelines and communicate to the lender or other 3"' party of approval and conditions of approval or denial. If approved, then follow up for the required documentation from the sale and prepare the documentation for the release of lien, if required.
