The Enterprise Strategic Investment Manager lives within the Huntington Corporate Ventures team and aids the bank’s strategic priorities through the identification, evaluation and execution of strategic investments and non-bank acquisitions. We are looking for an energetic, positive and creative person who isn’t afraid to try new things and work on cross-functional and diverse teams. The Strategic Investments Manager reports directly to the Strategic Investments Director and is responsible for working with the Heads and Directors of the business segments on the selection of strategic investments and non-bank acquisitions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and execute strategies for key business areas regarding non-bank M&A and strategic investments, including all aspects of deal development and prospecting, sourcing, negotiating and closing.
  • Assist in developing new initiatives by assessing and analyzing new markets, critical media and sports trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Lead due diligence in the form of business model evaluation, financial analysis and industry/market analysis.
  • Hire, inspire and lead a team focused on the delivery of Strategic Investments and non-bank acquisitions aligned to the business unit and enterprise strategies.
  • Conduct financial analyses and develop proposals for new business and investment opportunities and develop all required materials needed to reach an investment decision.
  • Ensures quality and timely preparation of all reporting material for strategic investments to Huntington Board, Committees, Executives and Senior Leaders.
  • Create and participate in strategic presentations to senior executives inside and outside the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ Years of business experience in the Banking, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Private Equity - Relevant experience in Corporate Development, Due Diligence & Implementation execution of M&A and equity Investments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Senior profile, experienced leader with customer centric mindset and ability to drive business impact with cross-functional approach in the organization
  • Proven track record of deal making in direct equity, venture capital investments and/or M&A
  • Excellent influencing, consulting, negotiation and communication (both oral and written) skills, with the ability to successfully interact with and relate complex technical information to multiples audiences in business terms
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when multi-tasking across various projects in a fast-paced environment; expected to execute tasks with minimal error and with high level of efficiency
