The Multi-Function Products department is responsible for guidance, navigation, signal processing, target detection and tracking system functions of the electrical subsystems used in our products. Job responsibilities of this role include activities such as troubleshooting electronics in a lab or production environment, performing system and circuit level analysis, supporting failure investigations, maintaining and creating documentation, hardware and/or logic design, and interacting with multi-discipline groups including suppliers.
What You Will Do
The Fort Wayne Engineering Support Team is seeking an ECAD Designer to join a highly accomplished team, to support multiple programs. In this ECAD Designer position, the candidate will work closely with Lead Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and across other disciplines to develop and document technical solutions to a wide range of complex requirements across Radio Frequency (RF), Digital and Analog designs. The position will require the regular use of ingenuity, innovation, and the ability to work in a team environment to design printed circuit boards, integrated circuits, and other electronic components. The candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the engineering and manufacturing organizations by using ECAD systems and enterprise data management tools to create schematics, prepare electrical design layouts, simulate designs, and generate detail and assembly drawings and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program, industry, and military specifications.
Qualifications You Must Have
Minimum Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronic Drafting or applicable Associates of Science degree
Minimum of 4 years of professional industry experience
Proficient with Electrical CAD tools design tools
Functional understanding of PTC Windchill or other Product Data Management (PDM) tools particularly for CAD files.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or applicable Bachelors of Science degree
Team player with high initiative and ability to work in an environment of rapidly changing priorities
Experience in ECAD design activity including leading a team to achieve desired results
Experience in managing multiple tasks concurrently
Experience in building relationships with internal customers, understanding their program needs and challenges, and effectively communicating an approach to solving their problems.
Skilled with Microsoft Office Tools
Work with Export / Import personnel to ensure requirements are met for Engineering documentation
Experience with ECAD tools (Mentor Xpedition, DxDesigner, VALOR, BluePrint)
RF, Digital and Analog product design and electronic packaging experience
Knowledge of materials and processes used in manufacture of electronic printed circuit boards (PCB) and circuit card assemblies (CCA).
Experience creating documentation needed to support the design, manufacturing and production of PCBs and CCAs.
Knowledge of IPC Standards and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
IPC Certified Interconnect Designer
