Position Description
The Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy and Technology (CMIST) invites candidates to apply for a special faculty part-time position as a lecturer for the spring 2025 semester. The lecturer will teach one undergraduate course on the Economics of Politics, Policy, and Technology for the Pittsburgh campus. The course will meet a total of 2 hours and 50 minutes per week for the duration of the spring 2025 semester (either in two 80-minute sessions or one 2 hour and 50 minute session). The position will run from mid-January through mid-May 2025.
Compensation will be $11,000 for teaching the full semester course.

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) launched a major new interdisciplinary institute, the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy and Technology (CMIST), in 2023. CMIST is a university-wide initiative devoted to the wise development, use, and governance of new and emerging technologies that are changing the national and international security landscape.

Tying these areas of strength to crucial questions of strategy, security, ethics, and policy, CMIST is the newest addition to this rich CMU research landscape.
