Full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor of Spanish - Military Veterans

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) seeks an Instructor or Assistant Professor of Spanish for three semesters, beginning January 8, 2025, and ending on May 17, 2026. The position currently entails teaching a variety of lower- and upper-division Spanish classes, student advising, and departmental and collegiate service. The current teaching load is three 4-credit classes per semester.
Salary range : $ $48,000 to $60,000 depending on qualifications
Required qualifications include a minimum of
- a Master's degree in Spanish or a closely related field from an accredited university at the time of application;
- two years of relevant teaching experience at the college level (TA experience accepted);
- evidence of strong teaching credentials;
- and outstanding oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
Preferred qualifications include
- demonstrated ability to teach various levels of Spanish courses,
- experience teaching classes about Spain,
- experience teaching Language for Specific Purposes, such as for health and business professions,
- knowledge of contemporary pedagogy and best practices in teaching and learning,
- and experience working effectively with diverse groups in educational settings.
