School: Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department/Area: Center for Brain Science Position Description: We seek up to two postdoctoral fellows who will pursue research on fundamental scientific questions in natural and artificial intelligence, with explicit links to neuroscience and cognitive science. These fellows will be part of Harvard University's Center for Brain Science ( CBS ), in a new program in the physics of intelligence, funded by a gift from NTT Research, using physics to tackle fundamental questions in intelligence, bridging computational and theoretical neuroscience, computer science, and cognitive science. Postdoctoral fellows will have substantial independence, joining a vibrant group of theoretical and experimental neuroscientists and theorists in allied fields at Harvard's Center for Brain Science . CBS includes faculty doing research on a wide variety of topics, as can be seen on our website https://cbs.fas.harvard.edu/ . Responsibilities: 1. Conduct research on the physics of natural and artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and cognitive science 2. Publish and present research findings in high-quality scientific journals and conferences 3. Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students on research projects 4. Contribute to the preparation of research proposals 5. Participate in teaching and mentoring activities for undergraduate and graduate students Please note: This position is contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. Basic Qualifications: 1. A PhD in a relevant field 2. Demonstrated record of research achievement 3. Strong written and oral communication skills 4.
