Mechanical Design Development Engineer - Military Veterans

General Information:
Hitachi Energy is seeking for an experienced mechanical engineer to support the development and implementation of the new Mechanical Design System for distribution transformers for Jefferson City factory. In this role, you will work as part of the HUB Engineering Team to develop solutions that empower mechanical designers in the optimization of highly cost-effective Distribution Transformers. As a member of the development team, you will be responsible for a great variety of tasks spanning conceptual definition, documentation, development, validation and deployment of the Mechanical Design System.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement mechanical design rules for the design and manufacturing of distribution transformers.
- Design and prepare 3D templates and models for the mechanical design system.
- Convert 2D drawings into 3D parts and assemblies.
- Contribute to all stages of software development lifecycle.
- Analyze user requirements to define business objectives.
- Participate in development and testing activities.
- Write well designed, testable code.
- Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and provide technical support to final users.
- Create development and end user documentation.
- Participate in meetings to discuss requirements and implementation details.
- Work independently on task assigned using Azure DevOps platform and follow-up regularly.

Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related area.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design for manufacturing environment preferably on distribution or power transformers.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in 3D Cad modelling and sheet metal design (Preferable using PTC Creo)
- Experience in finite elements and stress analysis.
- Experience in programming or scripting. Object oriented programming skills desired.
- Experience with Relational databases using MS SQL Server or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent English skills
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
