Job Summary:
The Patient Services Coordinator will work at the front desk in the majority of clinics. This position acts as a contact for patients, visitors, vendors, and the community at large accessing services of the College of Dentistry via telephone contact, face-to-face encounters, and daily appointments. Welcomes all patients/family members/others to clinic in a friendly manner.
This position is responsible for the check in registration of patients. The successful candidate will maximize patients' financial coverage through proper registration and verification of benefits.
Duties include:
- obtain demographics, verification of coverage and annual documentation of forms as required as well as scheduling of appointments
- collect co-pays and amounts due at time of service
- answer basic insurance coverage questions
- process and maintain registration information in the electronic health record
- screen and directs incoming calls
- process referrals
- provide excellent customer service
