General Description
The Director of Purchasing is charged with the responsibility of administering the College-wide Purchasing and Fixed Asset Inventory programs. The Director ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and College policies and procedures related to purchasing activities, including strict adherence to bid dates and specifications, and inventory control. The Director of Purchasing reports to the Dean of Financial and Business Services.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Three years' experience in purchasing management utilizing a computer-based purchasing system. Demonstrated knowledge of regulations pertaining to public entity-purchasing process. Advanced oral and written communication skills to interact with a broad level of WCJC staff, state agencies, vendors, etc. Criminal background check required.
