Position Title: Adjunct Faculty - Master of Architecture Program Location: Grand Rapids (Kendall) Department: 92300 - KCAD Master of Architectural Advertised Salary: Starting at $4,330 per 3 credit course. FLSA: Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Temporary Part-Time/Full-Time: Part-Time Union Group: Kendall Faculty Association (MEA-NEA) Term of Position: Less than 9 month At Will/Just Cause: Just Cause Summary of Position: Responsibilities for a KCAD adjunct faculty member include syllabus and class preparation, instruction during scheduled course time, providing reasonable availability to students for consultation and assistance with respect to assigned course(s), and evaluation of student performance. While not required of adjunct faculty, the M.Arch program values the contribution of all faculty members through participation in program meetings and activities. The College is seeking candidates to teach in-person courses in structures, design studio, and/or digital representation, in Spring 2025. Courses are to be taught in person on KCADs campus in Grand Rapids, MI. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. This position is part-time and may lead to renewal for future teaching opportunities. Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing Required Education: A professional M.Arch or B.Arch degree or their international equivalent or For teaching in structures, a professional masters or bachelors degree in engineering or their international equivalent Required Work Experience: Three years of experience in professional practice and/or teaching in architecture and related fields. Required Licenses and Certifications: Physical Demands: Office Environment Moving Sitting Standing Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: US architectural licensure. Demonstrated professional track record of excellence in built projects. Demonstrated record of scholarly and creative projects. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare syllabus and class according to college standards and distribute syllabi. Teach appropriate course(s) as assigned. Assess and evaluate student learning and provide formative feedback throughout the course. Provide reasonable availability to students for consultation and assistance with respect to assigned course(s). Evaluate student performance. Contribute to the intellectual life of the M.Arch program. Maintain effective communication with students and colleagues. Work collaboratively with faculty, students and staff throughout the college. Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
