The Materials Quality Manager reports to the Divisional Senior Materials Quality Manger.

The Materials Quality Manager is responsible for developing and leading our Polymeric Materials category within the Materials Solution Division. This role is critical for managing supplier quality interactions in support of our CMP polishing pads. This role will help to proactively manage and deliver consistent raw materials to our manufacturing teams and drives continuous quality improvements in the raw material supply chain. The individual will be a subject matter expert for their given material category and thus work closely with their team to develop new skills and process knowledge. They will support their team's development and execution on raw material related issues both at the supplier and also with end-use and internal customers.
The key responsibilities of the Materials Quality Engineering Team Leader are:
- Lead and manage the Polymeric Materials category team through talent acquisition, people development, coaching, and training
- Support the team and own supplier interaction and management for raw materials if required
- Align the Materials Quality Engineering Team with the Business, Operations and Customer Quality teams to identify and drive impactful improvements in the supply chain
- Build effective working relationships with key individuals at all suppliers and with internal stakeholders to influence quality, variation reduction and cost improvement projects
- Develop and execute continuous improvement plans on key raw material supply chains including, when appropriate, six sigma projects
- Be a technical expert in either chemical or extrusion technology
- Responsible for meeting established goals and metrics with a major focus on quality and productivity with all suppliers
- Support customer facing team for customer audits and inquiries on all raw materials
- Be a technical resource for the team in supplier quality interactions including supplier corrective actions, audits and scorecards. Drive on-time root cause analysis and corrective action for deficiencies
- Provide leadership during problem resolution events and management of change opportunities
- Establish and meet aggressive and achievable goals and metrics with a focus on quality and productivity
- Be a key player in the plant leadership team for all issues
- Champion and support all corporate EH&S and Quality initiatives
Qualifications:
Education -Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering. Masters preferred, PhD and/or MBA a plus. Knowledge of Six-Sigma required. Six-Sigma Green Belt and Quality Management Systems training preferred.

Experience - 7+ years minimum work experience in Chemical or Materials Production environment, experience within semiconductor industry a plus. 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor. Solid operations or R&D background in chemical or materials manufacturing environment with core competency in any or all of the following: Research and Development, Supply Chain management, Manufacturing, Quality, and/or Production management.
The key competencies required of the Materials Quality Engineering Team Leader are:
- Business acumen; ability to identify and understand the relevant business drivers and translate them in actionable operational activities.
- Talent Development; ability to discover training needs and provide coaching, listen to team members' feedback and resolve issues and conflicts, encourage creativity and create an inspiring team environment with open communication.
- Analytical; skill in applying statistics to seize opportunities, including SPC/SQC, Six Sigma, Measurement System Analysis, Analytical Methods and Metrology
- Leadership; capability to build relationships, lead and motivate teams and drive activity through a balance of influence and inspiration
- Communications; skill in concise and clear verbal and written communications and experience with front line supplier and customer interactions
- Systems Thinking; experience with implementing Quality Management Systems to support business growth
- Knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes and, supplier and customer interactions
