Job Summary and Qualifications

The Endoscopy Technician functions under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs delegated functions. Assists the physician by preparing and handling instruments and caring for scopes, supplies and equipment to perform endoscopic procedures. • Provides safe, effective cleaning of all equipment in compliance with safety and infection control standards


• Adheres to policy and procedures, observes Universal Precautions and is responsible for meeting the standards of care


• Patient age may be from neonate to geriatric


• Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from high school or equivalent program


• Certifications Current Basic Cardiac Life Support


• Minimum 1 year in a health care setting


• GI lab experience preferred
