Medical Administrative Assistant - Military Veterans

POSITION SUMMARY:


As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will have a multifaceted role of supporting healthcare providers and simulation educators in documenting relevant medical information during simulation sessions and product discussions. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately capture and document medical information that will contribute to the development of innovative healthcare simulation products.




SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: 


Receives direct guidance and supervision from Chief Medical Officer. 




DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 



  • Simulation Documentation: Accurately document and transcribe medical information, procedures, treatments, and latest evidence based guidelines, and other pertinent information as directed.

  • Medical Information Management: Organize and maintain accurate healthcare simulator assessment information, ensuring completeness and accuracy. 

  • Real-time data entry: Enter and record medical information during simulator assessments, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Prototype Testing: Assist in the testing and evaluation of simulation prototypes by accurately documenting and recording valuable medical and assessment information. 

  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with members of the team to facilitate effective communication and documentation. 

  • Compliance: Adhere to legal and ethical standards regarding confidentiality, privacy, and data security within the context of healthcare simulation. 

  • Continuing education: Stay up to date with medical terminology, procedures, and relevant evidence based guidelines to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation. 





QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:



  • Graduate from a medical assistant program or similar. 

  • At least 1 year of medical secretary experience. 

  • Active CMAA credentials.

  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.   

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. 

  • Experience working with simulation products is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Innovative mindset with a passion for advancing healthcare simulation technology. 

  • Chart Educator and simulator encounters. 

  • Proficient in the use of computers with intermediate to advance level experience in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Type 60 words per minute or more. 

  • Experience documenting a large amount of data. 

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written). 

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.





PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to communicate (read and write) effectively in a business environment. 

  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions.

  • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods to assemble documentation and record data.

  • Ability to walk the facilities to collect necessary data.

  • Ability to lift, pull, push and carry objects and supplies (up to 20lbs).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use his/her fingers.  

  • The employee frequently is required to talk and/or hear.   

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in determining how to conduct assigned tasks.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM must be willing and able to work some Saturdays or stay beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet business demands.
