The Opportunity

Sales Representatives for National Accounts focus on developing new and existing client relationships for large scale businesses with complex packaging needs. The National Account Sales Representatives coordinates the sale and implementation of managed inventory programs, logistics support, just in time delivery and assistance with design and new product set-up.

How you will impact Victory Packaging, a Smurfit Westrock Company:

  • Identify, qualify and generate sales within targeted business segment.
  • Work closely with Victory National Accounts team and internal operations to analyze needs and formulate competitive bids.
  • Coordinate branch efforts to ensure consistency of product and service.
  • Engage Victory accounting staff to obtain appropriate credit documentation to establish new customer accounts or resolve existing customer disputes.
  • Inform customers about market conditions, pricing issues and current competitive benefits regarding Victory relationship
  • Respond to requests from customers for information, product quotes and presentations.
  • Involve other Victory team members in design or production of specific materials to meet customer needs.
  • Consult with production, branches and corporate to ensure on-going commitment to high quality service on national accounts.
  • Maintain high level of industry knowledge and remain up-to-date on new product development and related industry issues.
  • Provide management communication and reporting as directed.
  • Resolve customer concerns by involving appropriate Victory team member or by engaging senior management assistance.
  • Meet all sales targets/ metrics as defined by National Accounts Sales Manager and President.
  • Participate in special promotions and strategic marketing efforts as required.
  • Closely follow all established policies, guidelines and pricing for customer accounts and service.
  • Provide timely feedback to management team regarding service failures or customer concerns.
  • Partner with branch operations and corporate to meet and exceed customer's service expectations.
  • Utilize technology, such as e-mail and contact management software, to more rapidly respond to customer needs and requests for information.
What you need to succeed:
  • An MBA or Bachelor's degree in business marketing, economics or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and apply market intelligence to sales strategy
  • Executive presence to influence senior decision-makers
  • Execute successful end-to-end sales process if customers business is placed out to bid
  • High level of financial and business acumen
  • Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases)
  • Ability to identify issues and communicate with team, management and client
  • Ability to travel 25% or more as needed.
  • Five or more years successful sales experience in industrial packaging or related industry is preferred
  • Oral and written communication skills
