Location: Chicago, IL Job Description: Works with hiring managers and their administrative staff to support the hiring lifecycle developing job descriptions, sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, conducting phone screens, participating in interviews, checking references, and making salary offers.  Implements outreach efforts to attract diverse candidates through job boards, social media, 1:1 conversation, networking, and involvement in industry professional organizations and events. Develops a network of contacts at the University to identify and source qualified internal candidates. Networks throughout the University and its affiliated organizations with employees and employee groups. Maintains thorough knowledge of university priorities and programs. Partners with managers to collect and share informational or marketing materials to share with prospective candidates. Serves as HR partner by managing processes within the Workday recruitment and hiring lifecycle. Partners with relevant teams across ARD and central HR including but not limited to Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Workday Solutions, and Shared Services. Provides consultation to and advises hiring units to ensure University policies and procedures are applied appropriately. G uides units on staff recruiting, including, prescreening resumes, advising on advertising methods, interviewing candidates, checking references, and advising on salaries. Schedules clerical testing when requested by units. Communicates University policies, employment issues, and procedures to hiring managers through routine meetings and workshops. With minimal guidance, conducts training with units and newly hired human resources employees on employment processes, procedures, and issues. Provides consultation to and advises hiring units to ensure University policies and procedures are applied appropriately. Performs other related work as needed. Preferred Qualifications Technical Skills or Knowledge: Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to the Office of Alumni Relations and Development, including the University's donor relationship management system and the Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency with project management and task tracking tools. Preferred Competencies Demonstrated success using a variety of applicant sourcing techniques to recruit for a broad range of positions. Demonstrated ability to build networks, conduct interviews, and build relationships. Manage sensitive, confidential information with discretion and tact. Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Build and maintain positive relations with team members and unit partners, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring all work is completed accurately and thoroughly. Flexibility and adaptability to new programs in an emerging and changing environment. Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills characterized by the ability to listen, speak, and write effectively. Self-motivated and take initiative. Working Conditions This position has a hybrid work schedule which includes weekly in office presence. Standard office environment. Travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business. Work evenings and weekends as needed. This position is located in Hyde Park at 5235 South Harper Court.
