The Department of the Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. The search is open to any area within the Earth and planetary sciences and related interdisciplinary research fields, including research programs that would integrate and expand the department?s strengths in planetary science, geobiology, or other areas that would support the efforts of the University?s Center for the Origins of Life . We seek individuals who will lead world-class research programs and enhance the intellectual endeavors of the department and the university. Ongoing research activities can be found on the department website. Completion of all requirements for the PhD prior to appointment is required. Required materials are: a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a statement of research, and a statement of teaching and mentoring philosophy.
