Position Specific Description

The Manager Strategic Initiatives role involves working on a team that is focused on high-priority corporate projects. Projects involve solving complex problems and improving operating performance across a broad variety of business units, from renewable energy (wind, solar, and battery), to natural gas & nuclear technology, to corporate support functions. The strategic projects group is designed as an internal consulting function that partners with senior executives to understand key business challenges and opportunities, conduct detailed analysis, and formulate strategic solutions. This job will use business management consulting skills to work with internal clients through all stages of strategy-based transformation engagements. Project timelines typically run 2 - 6 months.This position is on-site and sits within NextEra's Corporate Development & Strategy group, reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Projects.

Our ideal candidate possesses the following:
• Quickly understands business unit operating models and issues
• Supervises 2 to 3-person project teams
• Develops hypothesis and solutions grounded in solid data analysis
• Works collaboratively with business leaders and operators to guide and influence outcomes
• Prepares and communicates recommendations through PowerPoint to NextEra executives

Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Provides thought leadership and execution support on client assignments to craft strategy

  • Conducts both client and market development to grow the business

  • Consults with clients to identify, clarify, and solve problems critical to clients' strategy and operating success

  • Develops conclusions and recommendations, writes reports, assists in client presentations and provides implementation assistance as required

  • Constructs the analytical framework and work steps for each assignment, and leads the problem solving process associated

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Required Qualifications


  • High School Grad / GED

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience:8+ years

  • Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years

  • Master's Degree
