Position:

This position is responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships with key financial advisors and brokerage firms. The VP of National Sales leads the sales team in wholesaling and providing point-of-sale support for the life insurance product, including Life Annuity and Long-Term Care (LTC) insurance. This position requires frequent travel to meet with financial advisors and prospects. The Vice President of National Sales will collaborate closely with other leaders across the organization and will report directly to the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Leadership and Team Management:


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Regional Sales Directors to achieve individual and team sales goals.

  • Establish sales strategies, set performance objectives, and monitor progress to ensure team success.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching to enhance team effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with other department leaders to align sales strategies with company-wide objectives and initiatives.

Sales Strategy and Execution:


  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive growth in the Life Annuity and LTC product lines.

  • Identify and target new business opportunities with key financial advisors and broker-dealers.

  • Work closely with marketing and product teams to create tailored solutions and sales presentations for financial advisors.

  • Coordinate with other leaders to ensure that sales strategies are integrated and support overall business goals.

Financial Advisor Support:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major financial advisors and brokerage firms.

  • Provide exceptional point-of-sale support, addressing financial advisor needs and resolving any issues promptly.

  • Conduct regular meetings and presentations to review performance and discuss future opportunities.

Market Analysis and Reporting


  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats.

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

  • Analyze sales metrics to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies and make data-driven decisions.

Travel and Networking


  • Travel to meet with financial advisors, attend industry events, and represent DBS in key forums.

  • Build and leverage a network of industry contacts to enhance DBS’s market presence and sales opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales management, in the life insurance industry. Proven track record of leading sales teams and achieving revenue targets. Experience working with financial advisors and broker-dealers is highly desirable.

Required Skills:


  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse sales team.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with financial advisors.

  • Strategic thinking with a data-driven approach to sales planning and execution.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.

Education and Certifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field.

  • CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) designations are a plus. * Series 6 registration is required.

Additional Requirements:


  • Willingness to travel for meetings with financial advisors, industry events, and other business needs.

  • Strong understanding of life insurance products, including Life Annuity and LTC insurance.
