Your Role
Mission
Develop, lead, and support the assigned product line sales and marketing efforts in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of customers. Prepare related business development reports and conduct/present relevant market analysis.
Roles and Responsibilities
Business Development (75%) - Participate in the development of sales goals for the assigned product line. Meet or exceed established business goals by identifying opportunities in growth markets, applications, and customers for assigned product line and supporting both direct sales and distribution in pursuit of these opportunities. Support shall include, but not be limited to, customer visits, prospecting, product selection and sizing, pricing strategy, and training. Control expenses, while maximizing Company assets, time, skills, and profit levels. Review business development strategies on a regular basis and recommend modifications and enhancements that will secure sales goals in line with growth targets. Represent the Company at trade shows and conferences, as required. Maintain effective lines of communication with the relevant Business Line Manager, Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Direct Sales Representatives, and Technical and Service departments.
Reporting (15%) - Prepare monthly reports that show market trends, business development results, competitor activity, sales forecasts, and prospective activity.
Market Analysis (5%) - Continuously pursue knowledge and understanding of economic trends and news that may affect the assigned product line. Report such activity to the Business Line Managers, Regional Vice Presidents and regional Sales Representatives.
Personal Development (5%) - Through training and development, remain current in the product knowledge and sales/marketing skills necessary to be effective in the position.
Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.
Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.
Perform other duties as assigned.
To succeed, you will need
Qualifications
Experience
Five years of sales management experience, including field sales and territory management. Industrial sales experience is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's (4-year) Degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical area, and/or equivalent training and education.
Skills
Must be a proven leader who is able to work independently and has excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, as well as in C4C. Travel required. Must have a valid driver's license.
Travel
Between 20% and 40% within their assigned region which will include some overnight travel.
