Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist (two) FH #1511 | Brown University - Military Veterans

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist will be an employee of Care New England Medical Group (CNEMG) at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island and will beresponsible to the Division Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and ultimately to the Chair/Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Administration and Teaching 10% The individual will have administrative responsibilities as delegated by the Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine. The individual will be responsible for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Medical student, resident, and fellow teaching will be carried out on a regular basis through didactic lectures, case conferences, and at the bedside. Clinical 70% The individual will participate fully in the clinical activities of the division. Experience and expertise in the management of high risk pregnancies, including ultrasound evaluation and amniocentesis, is required. Seventy percent effort will be devoted to clinical activity. The clinical activity may include satellite locations and will include participation in a rotating call schedule. This percentage may be changed by the Chair/Chief of Ob/Gyn based on the needs of the division. Research 20% The individual will be expected to have a focused area of research expertise and to devote adequate time to research so as to demonstrate continued productivity in the form of abstracts presented at national meetings, papers published in peer reviewed journals, etc. Though initial, partial support from the division may be available for research costs, the faculty member will be responsible for pursuing external funding for their research program. A minimum of twenty percent effort will be protected for scholarly pursuits. This percentage will be adjusted by the Division Director and/or Chair/Chief as appropriate and/or based on external funding sources. All division members, regardless of track, are expected to participate fully in the life of the division, the department, the hospital, and the medical school. This includes attending faculty meetings, serving on committees, etc. Minimum Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must meet the following minimum requirements: The candidate must qualify for a full time faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate or Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University; Candidate must be Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology; Candidate must be Board certified or Board eligible in Maternal-Fetal Medicine; Candidate must be eligible for medical licensure in Rhode Island and Massachusetts; For the Associate and Professor level, the candidate must have a national reputation of scholarly productivity.
