Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Services Associate at Vallen is a hands-on executor of supply chain, vending, and/or VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) functions, predominantly situated onsite at a customer location. This individual collaborates closely with the Supply Chain Services Manager and, when required, with the inside sales and account management team. The primary objective of the associate is to ensure effective inventory management, adherence to service standards, and overall customer satisfaction, all while upholding Vallen's reputation for excellence.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operational Fulfillment: Directly engage in restocking vending machines, VMI cabinets, and toolcribs, ensuring that inventory levels align with set standards.
- Customer Interaction: Provide first-hand assistance to onsite customer queries, resolving any immediate concerns related to inventory or tool usage.
- Asset & Inventory Handling: Ensure accurate logging and tracking of inventory used, restocked, or requested, adhering to Vallen's inventory management protocols.
- KPI Awareness: Maintain awareness of key performance indicators and collaborate with the Supply Chain Services Manager to ensure KPI goals are met.
- Stock Out Mitigation: Proactively identify and address potential stockouts during vending/VMI fills and work closely with the Supply Chain Services Manager and Account Manager to implement solutions.
- Compliance & Reporting: Adhere to Vallen's inventory protocols, cycle counts, and report discrepancies or deviations as observed.
- Collaborative Support: Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain Services Manager and Coordinator to execute on-site operational strategies and initiatives.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest inventory management tools, techniques, and best practices to ensure optimal service delivery.
Job Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, complemented by 1+ years of experience in inventory management, distribution, or similar roles.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with vendor-managed inventory systems, vending machines, and general supply chain operations.
- Customer Focus: A service-oriented mindset, with an emphasis on understanding and catering to customer requirements.
- Analytical Aptitude: Ability to quickly assess inventory levels, identify potential issues, and provide solutions.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal communication capabilities, especially in a customer-facing environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with both Vallen and customer teams, ensuring smooth operations and a harmonious work environment.
- Self-Driven: A keen sense of responsibility, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and may include little to no advanced notice.
- Sitting, standing, walking, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.
- May be required to lift and carry up to 75 lbs; must have the ability to handle physical inventory that requires hand dexterity.
- May work in extreme hot or cold environments; various facilities may have dusty conditions.
