Full-Time Cooperative Clinical Facilitator Position Purpose New England College seeks a full-time Cooperative Clinical Facilitator - Nurse Educator to come home to our innovative Three-Year Cooperative Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The first of its kind in New England, our program combines the best characteristics of diploma, associate, and bachelor degree programs following a designated education unit (DEU) preceptorship model. As an Academic-Practice Partnership, our designated education partnership (DEP) promotes shared responsibility between academic and practice partners in educating student nurses while cultivating a nursing workforce poised to meet the demands of 21st-century healthcare delivery. Program fast facts: Cohort-based learning in a concept-based program. Completion of 124 credits in less than three years on a 12-month academic calendar. Essential Duties Summary The full-time Cooperative Clinical Facilitator (CCF) is a qualified NEC nurse educator primarily responsible for teaching and facilitating our Cooperative I, II, and III Clinical Experiences and Capstone Immersions. The CCF facilitates and supervises DEP cooperative learning experiences at various practice partner organizations. In this role, the CCF provides ongoing real-time education, support, and preceptor/student care team evaluation. Orientation: Communicates with the preceptor/clinical teacher and student to ensure readiness for the learning experience. Validates that the preceptor has been provided with all necessary material and information to oversee and supervise the clinical experience. Assures that the preceptor and student questions have been satisfactorily answered. Supervision and Education: Assumes overall responsibility for facilitating and evaluating the student's performance. Assumes responsibility for providing mentoring, education, and support to the preceptor/student care team. Serves as a continuous liaison to the preceptor in evaluating the student's performance. Connect theory to practice during scheduled one hour working lunch hour each shift. Communication and Collaboration: Collaborates/communicates with the student and preceptor to ensure that all parties understand the performance expectations, personal goals/objectives, and student learning outcomes. Meets with the student and preceptor before starting each experience and periodically throughout the cooperative experience shift to review performance expectations. Serves as a resource to the student and preceptor. Completes student evaluations with input from the preceptor and uses this information to help determine final clinical performance grades in the course. Consults with the course lead and DEP leadership. Evaluation of Cooperative Clinical Experience: Elicits ongoing feedback regarding the student's performance in the cooperative experience. Ensures all required paperwork related to the cooperative experience has been submitted to the course lead. Ensures the student receives timely and specific feedback on written coursework related to the cooperative experience. Completes the final cooperative clinical portfolio grading and provides the grade to the student and course lead. Required Qualifications Hold a current and active RN license in New Hampshire. A master's degree in nursing. At least two years of relevant nursing experience in the specific area of educational responsibility, e.g., adult, pediatric, gynecologic/obstetric, or mental health. Experience educating nurses in practice and/or undergraduate pre-licensure academic settings.
