What we’re seeking:

As a Manager of Engineering, there are numerous responsibilities to support multiple levels of management. Included in these responsibilities is the management of the workforce to ensure proper staffing, make and/or approve recommendations for hiring, positive discipline, coaching, mentoring and maintain balance to ensure conformance to required targeted goals, company and union policies. Coordinate joint departments activities, handle administrative functions, and work with other departments to define company direction, priorities, and coordinate planning initiatives. 

In this hybrid remote role you will be required to report to either our Bloomington, IL or Marion, OH locations on a regular basis. 
 
 
What we need in you:

We need you to be a motivated self-starter with strong people skills, proven leadership abilities and an understanding of telecommunications engineering disciplines like Inside Plant, Outside Plant and Transport. 
 
What you’ll do:


  • Direct supervision of Broadband Network Engineers.

  • Responsible for monitoring network port and traffic capacities within the network. Develop plans to ensure health of the network is maintained, including circuit congestion, port capacity, power, and eliminating end of life equipment. 

  • Ensure work order objectives, network quality, safety, and budgetary requirements are met.

  • Support the development of the annual capital budget. 

  • Familiarity of Broadband network elements (fiber and copper), Transport network design, Outside Plant design, power & construction.

  • Develop and implement plans to support sales, marketing, and regulatory efforts. Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure customer requests are completed by desired due dates. 

  • Effectively partnering with other engineering and construction teams to ensure a quality network is delivered on-time and on-budget.

  • Salary Range: $98,000 to $144,000

What background you should have:

  • Knowledge of business, principles, telecommunications, telephony accounting, finance, negotiation skills and a focus on internal and external customer service.

  • Knowledge of Inside Plant, Outside Plant, & Transport engineering disciplines.

  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, follow-up, resource coordination and customer service skills required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Proficient in the operation and/or interaction with Frontier approved computer software applications and systems.

  • Some travel may be required. 

 

Education/Experience: A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in telecommunications and accounting. CCNA and CCNP certification is a plus.
