Boeing AvionX develops and produces avionics and electronics systems designed for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems, and other core avionics functions. We have set our sights high – to design, develop, and manufacture the most technically advanced and reliable avionic components in the world. We are innovating and developing new products to address the future of the urban air mobility as well as our next generation of commercial, tactical, and trainer aircraft markets.



We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer in Hazelwood, Missouri to support AvionX aviation product lines.



As an integral part of our engineering department, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the success of our organization.



Who You Are:


You are an engineer with a passion for systems and component design and electronics. You have a strong technical background, with a desire to apply this to the development of new and cutting-edge avionics systems and components.  You also have strong interpersonal skills to work with subject matter experts as well as peers on the team to create deliverables.



Position Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and design mechanical systems and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.


  • Assist in creating detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.


  • Conduct research and analysis to support design decisions and problem-solving efforts.


  • Participate in prototype development, testing, and evaluation to ensure product performance and reliability.


  • Assist in conducting feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed projects.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution.


  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute innovative ideas and solutions.


  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment.


  • Supports the development, maintenance, or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.


  • Performs limited detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations.


  • Supports team in performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems.


  • Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.


  • Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts.




This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Hazelwood, MO site.



This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 



Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science



Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field


  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and concepts


  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD


  • Familiarity with engineering analysis tools, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)


  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholder


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment


  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work




Typical Education/Experience: 


Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.



Relocation:


Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift Work Statement:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 



Summary pay range: $65,450 - $88,550
