Associate Satellite Controller - Military Veterans

You will be a member of a team that performs satellite operations in a control center providing 24/7 satellite operations for a fleet of spacecraft following Intelsat and Space Systems Engineering and Operations (SSEO) policies and procedures.   You will perform activities scheduled in the daily activity plan, monitor telemetry, and execute spacecraft commands and procedures for the Intelsat satellite fleet.  You will also monitor the performance of the  Telemetry, Tracking, Commanding (TTC) system infrastructure and configure it to respond to scheduled activities, detected failures and non-nominal configurations.  You will provide a technical interface for SSEO staff and other departments, operating and managing the daily functions of the TTC network and operating and maintaining Satellite Control equipment.


 


What you will do 



  • Study, learn, and train to develop intimate knowledge of geostationary communication spacecraft design, ground operating systems and operations infrastructure.

  • Monitor Intelsat and third-party satellites, as well as ground assets, to ensure proper operation and promptly respond to satellite and network alarms.

  • Operate satellite and ground systems according to established procedures, execute scheduled and non-scheduled commands on satellites, and direct TTC&M Network activities.

  • Serve as a technical interface between engineering staff and satellite control staff, ensure awareness of nominal and non-nominal configurations.

  • Assist with troubleshooting Real-Time Ground Systems and provide 24/7 Level 2 support for Satellite Operations.

  • Perform TOSS operations, staff the console, and interface with customers.

  • Ensure timely execution of daily activities while maintaining situational awareness across Control Centers.

  • Be available for 12-hour rotating shifts, on-call support, and major holidays.

  • Stay current with personal training and development through scheduled training sessions.

  • Manage range activities, scheduling, and troubleshoot range anomalies.

  • Maintain a record of Satellite Operations and TTC&M Network activities in the daily log.

  • Provide feedback for documentation updates, policies, methodologies, and processes related to Satellite Operations. 



 


 Your required experience/skills



  • Minimum of a high school diploma.

  • Some relevant technical experience (less than one year is typical)

  • Flexibility for limited travel to meet business needs.

  • Availability for 12-hour rotating shifts, days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duty.

  • This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, delegate, and organize daily.
