The Opportunity

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

BDA is looking for a CH-47 Chinook Senior Technical Officer who will join the Chinook Engineering team. In this role you will provide technical support to the BDA maintenance team to support aircraft operations.

This role is based at Army barracks Enoggera.

Responsibilities


  • Perform defect and incident investigation, reporting, direct and root cause identification and provide recommended corrective actions.

  • Liaise with the customer and maintenance organisation regarding technical issues.

  • Develop, evaluate and manage technical documents.

  • Liaise with Boeing Philadelphia Service Engineering regarding technical requests, as required to support defect investigation and corrective action development.

  • Execute a reliability management process to monitor aircraft and critical systems defects and incidents.

  • Prepare reliability reports and briefs and draft technical instructions and orders.

  • Support deployed operations within Australia for periods of 4 weeks or more each year

Experience/Qualifications

Essential:


  • Six years aviation experience as a qualified technician and maintenance manager.

  • Prior aviation experience under the DASR or equivalent civil aviation regulations

  • The ability to interpret engineering and technical data.

  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Desirable:


  • CH-47 qualifications and experience.

  • Experience in a Program Support Office like environment.

  • Experience in aircraft sustainment engineering and technical support
