Position Specific Description
Operational Excellence across the Meter to Cash Space
NextEra Energy is seeking a motivated and innovative college intern to join our Meter to Cash team. As we transition our technology stack to the cloud in 2025, you'll be at the forefront of our pioneering Cloud Optimization initiative. Collaborate with our technology team on cutting-edge projects, optimizing our cloud infrastructure, and supporting this major tech transition. Gain invaluable, hands-on experience in a high-impact space, learning how we gather, analyze, and monetize energy from our innovative fleets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with Cloud optimizationto:
- understand AWS cloud utilization
- reduce costs
- define standards
- develop a streamlined process for continued governance
- Complete challenging projects and assignments
- Help map, evaluate and develop processes for various Project Management activities
- will gain understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Will learn the relationship between the business and IT
- Present final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education:Currently pursuing a bachelor's in engineering Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
Analytical Skills:Ability to dissect complex system workflows and business processes, and to understand how they correlate to business outcomes.
Communication Skills:Clear and effective communication will be beneficial, both for understanding the needs and processes of different parts of the organization, and for explaining findings or proposing changes.
Interpersonal Skills:Ability to work effectively within a team environment and collaborate with professionals from various disciplines.
Organization & Detail Oriented:Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while takingcareful consideration of business services and supporting applications in different areas
Project Management: The ability to manage multiple tasks at a time, ranging from inventory confirmation to initiating value impact discussions. (preferred, but not required)
Job Overview
To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor's degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists department with assigned projects
- Completes challenging projects and assignments
- Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
- Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school grad / GED
- Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
