Location: Bridgewater, MA Category: Faculty Positions Posted On: Tue Aug 20 2024 Job Description: GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide instruction for Embalming Clinical (FSR135) according to ABFSE accreditation requirements. This role involves presence on campus at least once a week to receive, review, document, and file embalming case reports, and off-campus clinical monitoring. Monitoring of off campus clinical sites includes maintaining, inspecting, and communicating with off-campus clinical sites and working with the preceptors at the established sites to ensure students are obtaining quality instruction and ample opportunities to embalm. The Clinical Instructor also monitors and instructs competency embalming taking place at off-campus clinical sites. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Post all required material on the College Learning Management System. Receive, review, prompt corrections of, document, and file student embalming case reports. Establish, inspect, and maintain off campus clinical sites per approval of program coordinator. Assess student progress related to defined student outcomes. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records. Monitor and verify student competence during off-campus competency embalming. Maintain clinical records for students, clinical sites and preceptors. Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Graduate of an ABFSE accredited funeral service or mortuary science program. Bachelor's degree. Maintain current and active licenses with Massachusetts's Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers as a Funeral Director and Embalmer if teaching or licensed in your state of residence and able to obtain a Massachusetts Funeral Director and Embalmer license for employment. Three years of current practice experience in the field of funeral service/embalming. Skill in implementing active and collaborative learning strategies. Skill in measuring student learning outcomes and assessments, evaluating course efficacy, and improving student learning. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree. Prior college-level teaching experience in an ABFSE accredited funeral service or mortuary science program. Evidence of innovative use of evolving instructional technologies in the classroom, and use of learning management systems. Experience, appreciation, and commitment to working in a global, multicultural academic setting and to the mission and the goals of a community college.
